What Manchester United Can Expect from Ugarte

Manuel Ugarte is set to join Manchester United, and commentator Kevin Hatchard has outlined what the Red Devils can expect from him.

Ugarte is keen to leave Paris Saint-Germain after not being given enough opportunities. On the other hand, PSG is expected to recoup most of the fee they paid to sign him from Sporting Lisbon last summer. The Ligue 1 champions will receive a fixed fee of €50 million plus an additional €10 million in add-ons.

Expert Kevin Hatchard appeared on talkSPORT to share what Ugarte can bring to the table and highlighted why the Uruguayan player is leaving the French capital after just one season.

Ugarte has come very close to M.U,

“He’s a very defensively-minded midfielder, someone who will win the ball back for you and initiate movement. But he’s not an attacking player. So, you know what you’re getting.”

“He’s not someone who will score many goals. He’s not going to split defenses with a pass, but he will help you get started by winning the ball back.”

“If that’s what you need, think of Casemiro, but not as good at the moment… I think he went to PSG, started well, had some really good performances, but in the end, Luis Enrique decided that he wanted a more technical player in the central midfield position.”
